Job Summary
UTC operates trading robot server software on controlled Windows workstations and maintains server infrastructure for proprietary trading operations. The IT Operations Engineer will support workstation readiness, Windows 11 reliability, network monitoring, secure remote access, local server-room operations, backup discipline, and incident response.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, monitor, and maintain Windows 11 workstations used for trading robot server operations and local GUI access.
- Support server-room operating discipline, including rack checks, access control, CCTV coordination, cooling and power observations, cable hygiene, and escalation logs.
- Monitor network connectivity, public IP availability, DNS reachability, SFTP/webhook paths, local services, backups, disk usage, and automatic restart behavior.
- Maintain operational runbooks for remote restart, local login support, remembered-credential checks, software upgrade validation, and post-reboot service recovery.
- Coordinate with trading technology teams when robot servers, web dashboards, broker gateways, or infrastructure telemetry require field support.
Candidate Profile
- Hands-on experience with Windows 11 administration, endpoint hardening, remote support, network troubleshooting, and server-room operations.
- Familiarity with PowerShell, Windows startup mechanisms, scheduled tasks, logs, backup routines, SFTP/SSH concepts, and basic Linux server administration.
- Strong sense of confidentiality, physical-security discipline, change control, and incident documentation.
- Comfortable providing calm on-site support during trading-system incidents and infrastructure recovery work.
This is an internal IT operations role supporting UTC proprietary trading infrastructure and does not involve external client support.
