Job Description: The Legal Manager will be responsible for overseeing all legal matters related to the company’s commodities trading and hedging activities, including both futures trading and physical trading operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in commodities law, contract negotiation, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution. This position will work closely with the trading, finance, and management teams to mitigate legal risks and ensure compliance with local and international regulations.

Responsibilities:

Provide legal advice on all aspects of commodities trading, including futures contracts, spot trading, derivatives, and hedging activities.
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts related to trading, supply chain, and service agreements.
Ensure the company complies with relevant laws and regulations in the jurisdictions where it operates (US, UK, Singapore, Hong Kong).
Oversee legal aspects of dispute resolution, including arbitration and litigation, if necessary.
Manage relationships with external law firms and legal consultants.
Advise on compliance with international trading regulations, anti-money laundering laws, and other industry standards.
Develop and implement internal policies and training programs to ensure legal compliance across the company.
Monitor regulatory changes that could impact the business and advise management on the implications.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Law; a Master’s degree or equivalent legal qualification is preferred.
5+ years of legal experience in commodities trading, futures markets, or financial services.
In-depth knowledge of international trade laws and regulations, including familiarity with the legal frameworks in the US, UK, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
Proven experience with contract negotiation and dispute resolution.
Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Proficiency in legal research and legal management software is an advantage.
